Day 23 | Old Writings Ring True
I revisit old writings and wonder if I still know the girl who composed them. She sounds so passionate, so sure. My notebook pile has grown over the days and months in between, but perhaps God has giving me the gift of those pages for nights such as tonight.
In the midst of this season of waiting... waiting for something... waiting for everything... waiting for nothing, I thankfully flip through the pages of mountain peaks and valleys.
It began with saying yes. It began with giving up my dreams. It began with saying that I want what He wants for me.
Saying yes to the One that made me, He weaves my every dream into purpose.
Purpose is the place where dreams collide with the picture that God painted before the beginning of time. Purpose is the compilation of the beautiful, the assortment of the lovely, and the essence of the true.
Every time that God asks me to give Him something, He presents me with the opportunity to say yes.
Saying yes to God—He invites us to know the joy of knowing Him. He invites us to know the intimacy of His friendship. He invites us to know that He has beautiful plans for us. He invites us to know purpose as He made it.
That’s what I have been contemplating this year. Sometimes giving up dreams is painful, but out of the greatest pain, the greatest beauty is brought forth.
